Difficulty level Aeterna Noctis features two game modes. If you are a lover of Metroidvania games, in Aeterna Noctis there is a perfect game mode for you, the Aeterna Mode. However, if extreme challenges and platforming are what you want, you are a Noctis Mode player. But do you know what the differences are between these game modes? We explain it to you.
- Aeterna Mode (A pure Metroidvania experience)In essence, the game has been completely redesigned to offer you as a player a 100% Metroidvania experience where action and exploration are the protagonists.
- Noctis Mode (Platforms and extreme challenges)By playing on this mode, you will not only have to explore and recover your powers, but you will also face constant puzzles, platform sections and challenges only recommended for the most demanding players. What if I started in Noctis mode and the difficulty is too much for me? Or... What if I started in Aeterna mode but want a more challenging experience? The player can switch between one mode or the other at any time without losing progress and reloading the game at the last save point, allowing the Aeterna Noctis experience to be shaped at your will. However, there are achievements that can only be unlocked on Noctis Mode.Recommended system requirements

User reviews
This platformer game is one of the worst. It is hard, not because of the gameplay, but because of the poor level design and bosses. Among 10s of platformer games, with 100% achievements in titles like silksong, grime, blasphemous and others, Aeterna Noctis is the first game I uninstall it after giving up in it, many chances to improve were given , early game, mid-game and in late game.
The world is amazing, some biomes look amazing and the story is amazing. But I just cannot recommend it. The first half was some off the most fun I had, but this game is brutal, and this comes as someone who finished the C sites from celeste so I had parkouring experience. The combat and exploring is "normal" difficulty but the parkouring feels frustrating. You will not even unlock shortcuts to skip tedious parkour
tldr: If you enjoyed Hollow Knight (especially the white palace) and Celeste chances are you'll like this game a bit. I'd say it's the second most fun I've had with a metroidvania. Really just give it a try, pick it up on sale if you're not confident. I and I'm sure many others have heard a multitude of things going into this game. The majority of which are about the difficulty so I'd like to speak on that first. If
