Definitely a lot shorter than both The Dark Descent and Rebirth, and definitely feels the weakest out of the series, however I still did enjoy it but there are a couple of issues I have with this game. First of all, the game is very short, usually only taking 3-5 hours to complete for its price, and the main function and purpose of the series, which is the sanity mechanic is removed from this game, which defeats the

Description
This world is a Machine. A Machine for Pigs. Fit only for the slaughtering of Pigs.
From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.
The year is 1899
Wealthy industrialist Oswald Mandus awakes in his bed, wracked with fever and haunted by dreams of a dark and hellish engine. Tortured by visions of a disastrous expedition to Mexico, broken on the failing dreams of an industrial utopia, wracked with guilt and tropical disease, he wakes into a nightmare. The house is silent, the ground beneath him shaking at the will of some infernal machine: all he knows is that his children are in grave peril, and it is up to him to save them.

Great: - story - voice acting - soundtracks -
city's atmosphere with massacre near the end
Dissapointed: - lack of horror elements - no fear for your life - the beginning of the game is slow and boring

I really want to recommend this game, I really do. It's lovely in every way. The ambience, the sound design, the chracter design and so on. But it all too much just falls flat on the gameplay side. Considering this is the successor to the dark descent it just feels jarring to see the stark difference between the two. Length wise and interactive gameplay wise. I don't usually mind a pure walking simulator. Especially
