It seems that Bethesda took inspiration from the Ultima: Underworld series, which I can respect. However I can only recommend this to hardcore Elder Scrolls fans only because this game is absolutely brutal and will punish you if you create an insufficient character at the start of the game. The voice acting is cheesy but I can't knock on it too much because it was a product of its time. I personally would advise

Description
The Imperial Battle College has lost contact with the Battlespire, an elite training center hidden in a pocket realm of Oblivion. An agent sent to investigate discovers the Battlespire’s staff dead and the gate back to Tamriel blocked.
