Ever since 2019, when I first played Slay the Spire , I’ve dreamt of creating my own deckbuilding game. In Trap Master , as a youthful ninja, you will assemble a unique deck of traps and powers, discover treasure of surprising effects, and guard a different base each time until you are ready for the unforgiving boss.

There's a pretty interesting game here, but - even after 1.0 release - it is massively bogged down by poor translations (or sometimes nonexistent translations - there's plenty of untranslated strings and text in the game), inconsistent application of special modifiers, buffs and debuffs, a reliance on a fairly unpredictable physics system, and a relative sparsity of content. Solid base, poor execution.
Very little content, cards, and build variety. Horrible balance
Probably my favorite tower defense and roguelite crossover i've played. I will say that the new game plus difficulties aren't very fun. At some point bosses aren't able to be stunned and start teleporting out of stun traps but they're so tanky that you have to rely on the same cheap ♥♥♥♥ to kill them. On difficulty 7 the enemies get so fast that the horses get flung over push back traps so you've gotta just eat that

The game wants to be slay the spire, but isnt fun. If you want a rogue-lite with paths that is fun, just play slay the spire instead. The tower defense portion is boring and not thought out well either.

I've had alot of fun with this game. Balance seems fair to me, there are times a run whiffs because of a build not getting fed the kinds of cards it needs, but its pretty forgiving with the health system so you got time to wiggle out victories
