Interesting, but the game design is just killing it. Like you have 3 hour time limit? Why can't I interact with the game in my own space? Interrogations lack of immersion. The actor said one line, then a full black screen where you can choose your answer, then another one-liner and a black screen again
A cute little detective game if you set your expectations low in terms of the ability to solve the crime through good detective work. I bought this during the detective game sale because I like to play point-and-click games while I eat. Big mistake with this game, as while it's a point-and-click game with FMVs, you're on a timer starting after you complete the first piece of detective work. I'm grading this on a
Criminal Expert aims to put you in the shoes of an investigator under pressure, and from the moment the game begins it leans heavily into that sense of urgency. A woman is found wandering in a state of shock along a forest road, and nothing about her appearance or circumstances makes sense. You are given three in-game days to uncover who she is, what happened to her, and what larger danger her case may be tied to.
I don't understand all the negative comments, this game is great. I really enjoy playing it so far. IRL you are not hand fed any clues, motives or evidence. One has to work everything out for themselves. It is not too difficult to understand what is going on. Give the game a chance. It is not perfect but it is a good mind puzzler.
It's hard to fully recommend this game, and I bounced back and forth for several minutes before deciding that you should TRY this game, IF you're into FMV detective games. Pros: Interesting crime, decent acting, and the bouncing between evidence in a timed environment can be fun. Cons: There's no replaying anything, and when you die, you go back to the beginning. Lame. Unoriginal, appears to be a non-heartfelt copy and paste... a random solitaire game that might crash on you, when it unexpectedly tries to use powershell... a random "create a free comic book, and likely ideas from others. I wished I had played this earlier. Certainly a refund candidate.
Criminal Expert is a game that seeks to be a live action Ace Attorney case, hearing what the characters have to say and finding out the truth when putting this together with the evidence you collect from the police database and what you find while out investigating.
