Mafia III is weird for me. I love the setting, I really do. Driving through New Bordeaux at night with the radio on is probably my favorite part of the whole game. I did that more than I probably should have. The story works and Lincoln works. The documentary-style cutscenes surprised me. But clearing districts over and over eventually starts to feel like a checklist. At some point I caught myself thinking, didn’t I

Maybe this game would bother me less if it wasn't called 'Mafia III'. Its a revenge story with lame open world ubisoft style gameplay with light touches of mafia sprinkled around. It doesn't help that the gameplay is extremely repetitive, and the guns feel pretty weightless. Honestly though the main reason I can't keep playing is its painfully obvious the mission structure is gonna take an 8 hour story and stretch
